The winter skies are beautiful this time of the year. Thankfully warmer weather is just around the corner. Soon the Town Green will be busy with spring Cornhole leagues, Yoga on the Green and other socially-distanced activities. Why Are There So Many Power Outages in Our City?

When the electricity goes out in our homes, it disrupts everything. Power outages occur everywhere, and certainly Peachtree Corners has experienced quite a few outages of late. 

While the City does not control how Georgia Power manages power outages, there are several things that each of us as property owners can do to avoid losing electricity as often as we have in the past.

Newest Button Art Sculpture Unveiled
Unveiled 1-26-21
In late January the mayor and councilmembers gathered to celebrate the unveiling of the city’s third Button Gwinnett sculpture.

This new button-shaped piece is located adjacent to the pedestrian bridge at the entrance to the newest section of the city’s Corners Connector 11.5-mile multi-use trail. Construction on the new Town Center section is expected to begin in late spring. Read More

Find Your Path to Fitness

If you're looking for a way to work out safely outdoors than you'll need to look no further than the Town Green. In the adjacent wooded area lies a free 10-station workout area that features a variety of workout stations to challenge even the most ardent exercise enthusiast.

It's free and open to all residents age 13+.

Public Works project
Medlock Bridge, Bush Road Improvements Underway

Construction is underway now on a project that will improve the traffic safety, operations and capacity of the intersection of Medlock Bridge Road at Bush Road. 

The project generally consists of roadway widening, some full depth asphalt pavement, milling and inlay, concrete curb and gutter, concrete median, concrete sidewalk, signing, pavement marking, storm drainage improvements, retaining wall, traffic signal installation and grading.  Read More
New PCVMA Board Members Announced
Peachtree Corners Veterans Monument Association
The board of directors of the Peachtree Corners Veterans Association (PCVMA) recently announced three of its members, including Executive Director and President, Bob Ballagh, would be stepping down.

Ballagh, who has served as executive director and president since the establishment of the board in 2015, will step aside. Tiffany Grave de Peralta, (pictured) is PCVMA’s new executive director and president. Grave de Peralta, a retired Navy Commander, has headed the veterans outreach efforts since joining as a committee member in 2015. Read More

Free Photo & Video Classes for Residents Return

The city's free photo and video workshops are back. The Tytan Pictures crew is returning once again to provide instruction on a variety of photography and video topics. Due to COVID, the class size will be limited to allow for social distancing requirements.

The classes cover everything from camera basics, lighting techniques and landscape photography to tips for advanced photographers. Check the city calendar for upcoming classes and information on how to register, location and times. Classes available only for those who live or work in the city.

Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is the highest accomplishment awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and one that undoubtedly deserves recognition. At its Jan. 26, 2021 meeting, the Peachtree Corners City Council was pleased to recognize Paul Nichols, a senior at Wesleyan School, for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Read More

The city's annual free electronics recycling and paper shredding event for Peachtree Corners residents that was scheduled for April 2021 will not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is a violation of Peachtree Corners Code to have a dead tree on your property that poses a danger to person or property on an adjacent lot.

Any tree debris that has fallen is to be removed from the property within 14 days.

Support the Veteran in Your Family with a Personalized Brick Paver

The next big event at the Veterans Monument will be the installation of new pavers in late May before the Memorial Day ceremony which falls on May 31 this year.
 
PCVMA will accept orders for bricks for the Memorial Day installation until Friday, March 12. Here is the link to order pavers for the Veterans in your family. Orders received after March 12 will be installed in November. For questions, contact Bob Ballagh at [email protected]
