Applications Open for 2024-2025 GUTC Fellowship
There are more than 1 million “out” trans people living all across the United States. Yet less than 4 cents of every $100 awarded by U.S. foundations focuses on trans communities. Our Grantmakers United for Trans Communities (GUTC) program is a critical intervention to this funding reality, and we’re excited to be accepting applications for our next cohort of GUTC Leaders Fellows!
The GUTC Leaders Fellowship provides ongoing support, peer networking, and leadership and professional development to a cohort of 6 trans, gender non-conforming, or non-binary professionals in philanthropy over a 12-month fellowship period, beginning in the spring of each year.
Applications due: January 15, 2024. Apply today!

Article: Black Trans-Led Orgs Don’t Require Intermediaries
With less than 4 cents of every $100 awarded by U.S. foundations going to trans communities across the board, Black trans-led organizations face a specific and unique challenge. In this article published in Forbes, Borealis’ Fund for Trans Generations Director Dominique Morgan points out how funneling funding for trans issues through non-trans decision-makers dilutes impact. Morgan goes on to make the case that philanthropy should be funding trans leaders and issues directly. Read the full article.
