Funding Forward Registration is Now Open!
The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here - we are excited to announce that registration is now OPEN for Funding Forward 2023!
The event, to be held in Loews Chicago Hotel from November 29th to December 1st, will not only be Funders for LGBTQ Issues' first in-person conference since 2019 but also mark the tenth anniversary of this annual gathering of grantmakers committed to LGBTQ issues.
Virtual content will be available for hybrid participation.

We want to thank our host Chicago Community Trust and sponsors for their support of this year's conference. Without them Funding Forward would not be possible.
Celebrating Pride Every Day: Cultivating A Daily Practice of Resistance
This Pride continues to be a space of reclamation and joy, but it is undeniable that we are in a moment of tremendous attack. Our lives and well-being are under a daily assault. For us at Funders for LGBTQ Issues, we are asking ourselves what it means to come from a powerful legacy of movement ancestors and how that legacy informs how we show up in this moment for the people we love. Mariame Kaba, famed abolitionist, and librarian said not too long ago, “Let this radicalize you, rather than lead you to despair”.
This is a moment where we need to fight like hell.
If you missed our full Pride statement earlier this month, we invite you to read it and consider what it means to cultivate a daily practice of resistance. As a sector, we must move beyond celebrating Pride once a year and toward a more rigorous practice of hope and collaboration all year long. Help us shape a new legacy that moves us toward freedom for generations to come.

Resources for Funding LGBTQ Organizing
In the face of the growing anti-trans and gender-expansive backlash nationwide, Funders for LGBTQ Issues has created a resource hub for funders seeking to increase funding for TGNC communities specifically and the LGBTQ community broadly. It also collects resources for organizers seeking support and other information.
Please note that this guide is emergent, and we are adding new resources daily. Please feel free to email our Communications Officer, Noemi Mangual-Rosa, to suggest additional resources and links or to make note of updates.

Farewell to Chantelle Fisher-Borne After Eight Years of Leadership
After eight years of powerful philanthropic organizing to resource Southern LGBTQ movements, Chantelle Fisher-Borne, Senior Director of Out in the South, has completed her tenure at Funders for LGBTQ Issues. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and visionary work. She joined Funders and stewarded Out in the South into the powerhouse it is today. Under her stewardship, the Out in the South Fund has awarded more than $3 million dollars for catalyzing locally-driven Southern funds moving resources to support LGBTQ movement work in the South.
She has also shared all that she has learned from her philanthropic organizing with others, helping in the development of funds such as the Contigo Fund, the Queer Mobilization Fund, the Southern Power Fund, and the Arkansas LGBTQ+ Project. Her work, stewarding Out in the South and building with local and national partners alike, has left an indelible mark on the sector. We wish her continued success in her next endeavors, and as we prepare to begin the implementation of our new strategic plan, we know her work on the program has ensured its long-term vitality. We look forward to building on her legacy in the program’s continued evolution.
