Selma Funder Delegation 
(Friday March 6th-Sunday March 8th)

Our friends at Grantmakers for Southern Progress and Neighborhood Funders Group are convening national and local funders to participate in the historic 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the 1965 Selma to Montgomery March and explore the role of philanthropy in continuing and expanding the work for social justice and economic opportunity in Alabama and the Blackbelt region.   • Get Yr Rights Toolkit
    BreakOUT and Streetwise and Safe has released an advocacy toolkit for LGBTQ youth and organizations confronting police harassment.
  • "Funding Free Knowledge The Wiki Way"
    This new report by the Paris-based Lafayette Practice is a comparative review of the Wikimedia Foundation's grantmaking practices, situating the work of the Foundation within a larger field of practice in philanthropy called Participatory Grantmaking.
Requests for Proposals
  • American Psychological Foundation 
    American Psychological Foundation has released a request for proposals for its $15,000 Wayne F. Placek Grants to support empirical research on any topic related to lesbian, gay, or bisexual issues within the fields of behavioral and social sciences. The deadline is March 1, 2015.   • Social Justice Fund Northwest 
    Social Justice Fund Northwest has announced six grant cycles to open in 2015, including a portfolio for Gender Justice groups and a portfolio for General Support for groups in the region. The deadline for both RFP's is March 19, 2015. For more information,  click here.
  • Centers for Disease Control HIV/AIDS Funding Opportunity
    As part of the Act Against AIDS campaign, the CDC has published "Enhancing HIV Prevention Communication and Mobilization Efforts Through Strategic Partnerships" and is inviting applications for funding from organizations. The deadline is March 23, 2015. For more information, click here.
  • LEAGUE Foundation LGBT Scholarship Program 
    The LEAGUE Foundation LGBT Scholarship Program is now open for high school senior student applicants online. The application deadline for scholarships is April 30, 2015 and awards will be dispersed in the summer of 2015. For more information, click here.
