Sustainability Formative Assessment
The final Sustainability Formative Assessment and action plan are due on November 30, 2022. Work with your TA provider to craft a plan for partner input and joint planning. You can access the template, self-directed assessment tool, and a recording of the webinar that outlines the tool under the webinar section of the grantee portal.

Program Kickoff Webinar
On August 31, 2022, the Small Health Care Provider Quality Improvement Program officially kicked off its newest cohort of grantees with a welcome webinar that included a grant program overview from the Quality Improvement program coordinator, Mew Pongsiri from the HRSA Federal Office of Rural Health Policy. Grantees also learned about the technical assistance resources that will be available to them via the Georgia Health Policy Center, Stratis Health, and Rural Health Value teams. First Learning Opportunity Webinar – Preparing for Success with Your Quality Improvement Grant
On September 21, 2022, grantees engaged in their first learning webinar of the program. Grantees were able to hear from and engage a panel of former and current Quality Improvement grantees who shared their experiences as grantees and highlighted some program successes and lessons learned from their time as grantees. The slides and recording will be available here within a week.
Grantee Intake Calls and Technical Assistance Action Plans
Grantee intake calls are happening throughout the month of September. During this time grantees and their technical assistance providers are getting a chance to know each other better and begin development of their working relationship. Part of this development includes the creation and finalization of Technical Assistance Actions Plans (TAAP). TAAPs are living documents that the grantee, HRSA project officer, and technical assistance provider jointly approve as a beginning record of technical assistance needs and plans.

RMOMS Fiscal Year 2022 Cohort
The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy is pleased to announce that nearly $4 million has been awarded to four recipients for the new competitive cycle of the Rural Maternity and Obstetrics Management Strategies (RMOMS) Program. The four awardees in the fiscal year 2022 cohort are Avera McKennan (Sioux Falls, S.D.), IHC Health Services, Inc. (Salt Lake City, Utah), MaineHealth (Portland, Maine), and St. Vincent Hospital (Hot Springs, Ark.).

The RMOMS PIMS deliverable is due in EHB on September 30, 2022. The EHB portal will be open from September 1-30, 2022.
Storytelling as Qualitative Data for Advancing Maternal Health Equity
RACE for Equity serves on the Rural Advisory Council of the Georgia Health Policy Center and is a partner of the Maternal Health Learning and Innovation Center. RACE for Equity facilitated a community of practice for Maternal Health Innovation, RMOMS, and other interested maternal health stakeholders on September 8 and September 20 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. ET. Quarter 4 Learning Opportunity
Be on the lookout for the next quarterly learning opportunity from your technical assistance team at the Georgia Health Policy Center. The Georgia Health Policy Center recently published a financial sustainability workbook. The workbook includes information on identifying the financial resources in your local system, community approaches to financing innovation, engaging and building relationships with payers to create new funding streams, and case examples. The Building Healthy Places Network recently published a playbook on rural partnerships. The playbook is an action-oriented guide designed for healthcare organizations wanting to pursue partnerships with local community and economic development and other sectors in rural areas to create the community conditions that support improved community health. The playbook includes information on identifying cross-sector partners, a five-step path to multisector rural partnerships, various strategies, case studies, and more. The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute recently published a rapid review of studies published since 2015 on the use of telehealth for maternal care. The document highlights findings related to clinical outcomes, maternal and obstetric health outcomes, patient satisfaction, and other measures. Additionally, the document discusses maternal telehealth's potential as a supplement and as a replacement for in-person care. Click here to access the document.
