From President Frank H. Wu:

I am excited to share that Queens College has become a Vaccine College Champion in the nationwide COVID-19 College Challenge coordinated by the White House. The challenge, which was launched today, sets aside a “Month of Action” from June 4 to July 4 in which the country will work towards reaching President Biden’s goal of having 70 percent of adults receive at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and reaching the mark of 160 million Americans fully vaccinated, by Independence Day.

Meeting these goals is critical to saving lives and helping us all return to normal. Statistics show that while many elderly people have received the vaccine, the younger generation is lagging behind. It is important for young people to get vaccinated in order to keep themselves safe and to avoid spreading the virus within their families or communities.

Please check your college email and social media throughout the month for more information on the COVID-19 vaccine and opportunities to receive it. Together we can ensure that we do our part for ourselves and our country.
