Message from the Division President
A bit late, but Happy New Year! To friends and colleagues from China, the Chinese New Year was more recent and I wish all who celebrate this a happy and prosperous year. And I especially wish a fast resolution to the coronavirus outbreak in southeast China.
If you are new to our division, welcome to IISE's Quality Control and Reliability Engineering (QCRE) division. With the ongoing help of our diverse and exceptional supporting division directors, we will deliver on our goals and continue to strive to make IISE-QCRE the benefit that you and your fellow members deserve. I'm looking forward to the upcoming IISE Annual conference in New Orleans and I believe this year's program and venue will be exceptional.
We're only a few months away from the IISE Annual Conference and Expo. The division leadership team has been meeting regularly to be ready for this event. We have two best paper awards to be considered. There is a QCRE track best paper award and a best student paper award. We will also have numerous QCRE sessions, exciting one-on-one presentations with posters, and a deep learning workshop. There are valuable presentation and learning opportunities for all.
I continue to encourage all members to participate in our division's activities and contribute to the success of the division. Our volunteer leaders are driven and motivated to make your experiences in QCRE a success. You, too, can be an influence by joining committees, participating in division events, and attending conferences sponsored by IISE. At this year's RAMS conference in Palm Springs, CA, held last month, a QCRE meeting was held for which our Golomski award winners were recognized. Additionally, while not present, Geoffrey Okogbaa was recognized for his 25 years of service to IISE, representing the organization on the RAMS board of directors.
Don't hesitate to reach out and get involved. Your inputs, contributions, and participation in our year-round activities are crucial to the division's success. Please feel free to contact me (trevor.craney@collins.com) if you are interested in organizing new activities or serving on division committees.
