Operation Christmas Child

Families, neighbors, friend groups, scout troops and individuals are invited to join the Sewickley United Methodist Church family in our 2023 Operation Christmas Child campaign. This is our 13th year participating with the global OCC drive and we've sent more than 1,300 gift-filled shoe boxes to children in Ukraine and multiple countries in Africa, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. We provide the boxes, you fill them with school supplies and other small gifts, and return them to us. We bless the boxes in worship services and deliver them to collection centers. There is a $10 shipping fee for each box.

Boxes are available at the Sewickley UMC (337 Broad St.) pumpkin patch any day in October, or at the church office (Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m). Each box includes instructions and a list of suggested gifts (toothbrushes, crayons, pencils, notebooks, stuffed animals, balls, dolls, socks, T-shirts, caps). Boxes must be returned to the pumpkin patch or the church office by Nov. 12. For more information, contact Bill Utterback (412-913-6251, utterbac@earthlink.net).
