Inclement Weather Information
| |
|
As the temperatures drop and winter weather systems enter our region more frequently, we want to take this time to remind families of our alert protocols.
Families will receive texts, phone calls, and/or emails through our alert system. A follow up email will be sent out from the qvelink@qvsd.org email address. It is important to be sure that your contact information is current. If the contact information needs to be updated, please contact your student’s school. In addition, our district website, www.qvsd.org, is used to communicate delays and closings, as is the District’s social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
Quaker Valley also notifies three local news stations: KDKA, WPXI, WTAE. Please note that the District does not control how quickly the information is updated on-air. You may consider signing up for the electronic alerts through these stations.

Kindergarten Asynchronous Learning | |
|
Due to necessary changes in procedures for the 2023 Kindergarten Roundup, we will be shifting all current Kindergarten students to at-home, asynchronous learning days for Tuesday, February 21st and Wednesday, February 22nd. This change is for current Kindergarten students at both Edgeworth and Osborne Elementary Schools. This change will allow us to conduct our Kindergarten Roundup over two days, instead of four, and to meet the staffing demands in our schools. Unfortunately, there is a significant shortage of the substitute teachers that were necessary to operate our previous model. We apologize if this is an inconvenience for some families.
This is a change to the current calendar and affects only current Kindergarten students.
Your child’s Kindergarten teacher will provide you with lessons and practice materials for your Kindergarten student to complete at home on these two days. More information about the asynchronous activities will be sent home closer to these dates.
