Pass-Through Billing for PrimePay No Longer Available

QualChoice will no longer provide pass-through billing for PrimePay COBRA billing services. Existing groups who currently have this billing service in place will continue to receive it until their next renewal.

Phone System Update

Effective September 19, 2024, QualChoice will move to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) phone system. Please listen carefully as all menu options and extensions have changed.

Health Plan Affordability Threshold Increases to 9.02%

In Revenue Procedure 2024-35 (PDF), the IRS announced the new Affordable Care Act (ACA) affordability percentage will increase to 9.02% for 2025 employer healthcare plans. Following three years of decreases, this percentage increase provides employers more flexibility in setting their employee premiums without making their coverage unaffordable under the safe harbor.

Employers that set their health insurance premiums based on ACA affordability should consider carefully reviewing their rates with their brokers and/or consultants.

September Is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Prostate Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed non-skin cancer in men. It is also the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men, after lung cancer. September is recognized as National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. It is designed to raise awareness about prostate cancer, risk factors, and symptoms, and to encourage men to talk to their healthcare provider about prostate cancer and early detection.

The QualChoice CARES Cancer Awareness Resources and Support program provides high-quality, helpful services to our members with cancer and their families. We work with our members to help them understand their illness and learn how to actively manage their own care.
