Local Action
QCUA's newest criteria is Local Action continues to excel, with over 1,000 Local Action events logged for QCUA 2026 so far! Units need to host four different community engagement activities with at least four cadets at each event to earn Local Action credit. The Okinawa Cadet Squadron located in Okinawa, Japan, recently supported Kadena AB's AmericaFest, an opportunity for the local community to meet U.S. service members, see advanced static aircraft up close, learn about our mission and experience American culture from the diverse people that serve at Kadena Air Base. Cadets and adult members from the unit helped staff the STEM hangar, delivering hands-on aerospace education activities for youth and families using flight simulators, stomp rockets, and flight navigation map stations.
Local Action events are unit level events with a community service focus, and logging them helps show the impact that Civil Air Patrol has on our local communities beyond Search and Rescue and Disaster Relief missions. Wreaths Across America, color guards, and community trash cleanups are all great examples of Local Action events. Almost 300 units have entered Local Action credit - make sure to enter yours before the end of August!
