Quarles praises contributions of female farmers for Kentucky Women in Agriculture Day
"Anytime women find a seat at the table in any profession, it’s a win," Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Ryan Quarles said. "That follows true in agriculture as well. Recent survey data has shown women make up nearly 40 percent of our producers."
Henderson County was the leading soybean-producing county in Kentucky last year, harvesting nearly 5.4 million bushels. Union County, which borders Henderson County, set a record last year for the state's highest soybean yield at 63.9 bushels per acre.
