Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles announced that the Kentucky Department of Agriculture has created a webpage dedicated to sharing updated information about steps Kentuckians should take if they have received unsolicited seeds from foreign countries.
Hampton Meats is usually booked 60-90 days in advance by local farmers. Right now, the Hopkinsville processor is not accepting new business until 2021.
"Our farmers ... know all too well how burdensome regulations can affect their bottom line and make their jobs more difficult," Commissioner Quarles said.
Kentucky has 184 organic farms that account for $14 million in sales.
