PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
CAGI launched its Emergency Services programs October 2017 with great success. February 2018 the Rental Assistance and Car Repair programs were evaluated and revamped to include a more robust case management component.

During the first quarter period, over 700 families were assisted through the Emergency Services Crisis Assistance program that included a two hour financial literacy class. Each participant received a certificate of completion before check was issued.

Both services will resume under the umbrella of Case Management May 2, 2018 for partner referrals and walk-ins. The Weatherization and Emergency Services Programs relocated to the first floor offices for easier client access at 3266 N. Meridian Street at the 33rd Street entrance. To address food crisis (emergency only), CAGI has added a dry food pantry on its first floor.

CAGI frequency receives customer satisfaction feedback on the services it provides from clients. Following is one such response received via email on March 1, 2018:

"Hi, my name is Tamara Attyberry. I'm a single mom and I  received assistance from CAGI’s Emergency Services Department to help with my car repairs and I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this assistance. I have a son that has a disability and he goes to the doctor once very two weeks. But he also sees a behavior clinician once a week. I lost my job about two months ago so its been a challenge for me to get my son to his appointment's. My son and I are both enrolled in Ivy Tech Community college and we have two classes together I'm going part-time and he is a full time student. I'm trying to further my education at age 54 and this is his first semester of college. When my car broke down I had problems getting him back and forth to the doctor as well as getting us to our classes on time. So this assistance has helped our family during our time of need. Also we are both actively looking for employment and with my car up and running now, nothing can stop us. It's programs like this that really make you appreciate the word 'help'! Thank you so much for your help and support and my son thanks you as well."

Another from training participant enrolled in Love Life Vocational Training December 2017:
Through "Love Life Outreach Vocational" and the Community Action Agency, I now have hope and further desire to reach out of my past and touch my future. They have given me an opportunity to reinvest into my life and rekindle a fire and passion not only to change my life for me and my family but also to become a more positive role model for the community .

Our Mission:
To empower those we serve to become
self-reliant and self-sufficient.
