Quarterly news and views from the risk management experts.
WELCOME from the CEO
Delivering on the trust you have placed with us as your partner is inherent in every aspect of what we do. There are many companies to choose from when selecting your Risk Management advisor, and we are proud and honored that you have chosen Schauer Group as your partner. We wake up every day focused on how we can help our clients, our people, and our communities thrive.

To execute on that promise, we are continuously investing in our culture. We believe our company culture is our competitive advantage when attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry. It is my job to ensure that our team is empowered to deliver excellence to our clients, our communities, and each other.

Recently, our role as your partner has become even more imperative, especially as cyberattacks and ransomware become more prevalent among businesses of all sizes. We are in the process of creating a comprehensive one-stop-shop for the latest information on combating these attacks in our Resource Library.

I am very proud to serve as president, and I look forward to continuing to lead a great company built on our core values and a dedication to our clients and people. As you read on in this issue of our Digital Download, you'll find a variety of examples of how we are fulfilling this role.

If I, or anyone on my team, can assist you with any risk management concerns you have now or in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly.

Sincerely,

Joe Schauer

Service Spotlight

Drew Stelzer, client executive, shares his experience as a member of the board of trustees for Cleveland Leadership Center.
How long have you served with Cleveland Leadership Council?
This is my first year as a trustee, but I've been involved with the Development Committee for three years and served on the OnBoard Cleveland Advisory Committee for four.

Tell us about the organization.
CLC is critical to helping develop leaders of the next generation. CLC has done so much for me in terms of helping me connect with leaders of any generation. They truly succeed in their mission of providing collaborative leadership training, civic education and connections to leaders of all ages. CLC empowers leaders to identify and take action on issues that resonate with them and become change agents in the community.
What is your favorite part about serving with the Cleveland Leadership Center?
I have made lifelong friends and connections that have helped me so greatly over the years. The one that stands out the most is Danny Williams, CEO of Eliza Bryant Village. It is the oldest continually operating African American-founded long-term care facility in the U.S., serving approximately 1,200 seniors annually with nearly 200 compassionate employees and nearly 300 volunteers. I met Danny during my opening retreat for OnBoard Cleveland. He spoke about his work and how important programs like OnBoard Cleveland are for the city of Cleveland. I reached out to Danny to grab a coffee and the rest is history. I now have a great mentor and historian in Danny who helped me better understand the Cleveland philanthropic and business landscape, but we also have some fun together. I would have never been able to establish a relationship with Danny if it was not for the Cleveland Leadership Center.
