How Are We Doing?
Get Noticed at Summer Events!
The nonprofit group Ecomaniacs is looking for donations to support their summer cleanup program and education efforts. There's still time to become a sponsor and be recognized at the summer events including Riverfest, the Fair, and Lifelight!
Show our community your commitment to recycling education by supporting the Ecomaniacs this summer!

What's the deal with Glass?
As the recycling industry changes, so must we. To survive we must be nimble and willing to adapt. The fee change for glass processing comes as a result of a shift in the entire recycling industry, and Sioux Falls is following suit. To be able to continue serving our community, we need to stay up to date with industry trends and make adjustments, just like any other privately owned business.

Effective July 1, 2016, Millennium adjusted our single stream specifications to reflect this industry change. There are now two classifications of Single Stream: SS No Glass (SSNG) and Single Stream (SS) with glass. This change will be reflected on July's monthly statement.

We've received many questions and are here to answer them all. To explain more about the "why" behind the change, we put together a few bullet points. You can review them on our blog.

All incoming loads are now assumed Single Stream (SS) with glass. If your load does not contain glass and should be specified as SSNG, make sure you notify the Scale Attendant and Payload Operator prior to unloading. Millennium staff will verify upon unload.
Driver Safety Reminder:

For the safety of your drivers and our staff, please make sure the Driver Guidelines are being followed at all times when on Millennium property.

This includes no cell phone use and NO SMOKING, including electronic cigarettes. We require both hands on the wheel while unloading material, it only takes one mistake to cause a deadly accident.
