Quarterly Newsletter October - December 2023

Message from our CEO

Dear Friends,

As we approach the season of thankfulness, I want to express gratitude for each of you and the many ways you help further the work of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach. Each day, I am reminded of the blessings we have as an organization. From community partners who expertly lend their efforts to help improve the lives of those we serve, to those who contribute financially to our efforts, individuals, foundations, public and private funders and more—our reach and our impact is significant because of you!

Our agency is blessed by a dedicated team of employees, who bring compassion, empathy, professionalism and a willing attitude to their positions. Their efforts are complimented by

dedicated volunteers who show up each and every day, ready to make a difference. Our volunteers contribute a host of skills and abilities, and whether they are serving on committees behind the scenes or working directly with our clients, they are always willing to go the extra mile further our mission.

We are thankful for our clients. They trust our agency with their stories, and with each interaction we are left in awe of the humility, the determination, and the perseverance they demonstrate through each challenge they face. It truly is our honor and privilege to work with them and to recognize the successes they achieve as they overcome the challenges that have come their way.

These are challenging times. Tensions are high in our communities and across the world, causing fear and uncertainty, and creating feelings of hopelessness. It is my hope that as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we do so with a spirit of gratefulness. Let’s recognize opportunities to focus on our blessings and appreciate all that we have to be thankful for. And then, let’s in turn strive to be a blessing for others through kind words and deeds.

Ellen T. Wayne, Ed.D.
