Unveiling our New Mobile Health Unit

Senator Dick Durbin and renowned artist Rafael Lopez, along with other community partners, joined Lurie Children's leaders in unveiling our new mobile unit, which is equipped with running water, bathroom facilities, a wheelchair ramp, internet access, multiple clinic rooms and other enhanced features. The larger mobile unit will allow providers to serve more patients and increase the type of clinical services offered.

Free Gun Locks Available to Organizations in Illinois for Distribution — Pediatricians are Encouraged to Order 


As part of Together for a Safer Illinois efforts to save lives and reduce firearm related injuries, clinicians can now order free cable gun locks through a simple request form. Provided through a partnership between the Illinois Department of Public Health's Violence and Injury Prevention Section and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, these gun locks are free and can be distributed to families of patients at your clinic.
