Call for Committee Volunteers - We need YOU!

What does each CRV MPI committee do? Well, let me tell you! Our Chapter offers volunteer opportunities for both planners and suppliers to help you strengthen skills, expand networks and demonstrate hidden talents.

Don't have a lot of time? Who does! Helping with shorter tasks and smaller projects provides a huge help to our committees and the overall success of our Chapter!

Leadership Development Committee

Your go-to source for explaining what it's all about! Ask about joining a committee, being on our Chapter's board, or becoming a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). We're your help desk and love to answer questions!

Membership Committee

Our membership continues to grow thanks to the help of our membership committee! This team actively answers questions from interested meeting professionals, recruits new members and reminds us when it's time to renew.

Education Committee

MPI educational programs stretch our industry knowledge and help us grow professionally. Become part of the team that designs, plans and organizes great continuing education programs that keep members coming back!

Strategic Partners Committee

Sponsorships play a vital role of our Chapter's success. This committee plans our Chapter's special events and networking activities.   Join the team that acquires auction donations and contributions that fund our success!

Finance Committee

We do have an association to run and this team manages the numbers.   Join the organized keepers of the budget and checkbook and learn hands-on financial management!

Communications Committee

Communications committee members get the word out about who we are, what we offer, and what's coming up on the calendar. Join the team that manages our social media, writes our newsletters, creates PowerPoint presentations and new website content!

Committee positions are still available to help you get the most out of your MPI membership. Call the Director of Leadership Development about current opportunities or future board positions: Liz Piacentini, CMP, of Goodman Speakers Bureau at 860-687-1116, or liz@goodmanspeakersbureau.com.

Calling All Future CMP's!

Did you know that the CIC has updated the Manual for the 2014 exam?

What will be updated in the 9th Edition?

CIC has updated both the CMP exam as well as the Manual to ensure that it is more internationally focused. In addition, the CIC Manual and the CIC International Manual were combined in the 9th Edition. The 9th Edition is also now organized to follow the 10 domains in the CMP-IS. So now, for instance, the first chapter is about "Strategic Planning," which is the first of the 10 domains. Finally, CIC will be offering both a print and eBook version of the Manual. This will be the first time the Manual will be available in eBook format. These changes all reflect recommendations from diverse sets of focus groups including CMPs, recent candidates, international CMPs and those involved in facilitating structured exam preparation groups.

Are you prepared for exam day?

Here are some great tips and important information for you to know when preparing to sit for your exam.

* Candidates should plan to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled appointment time to allow time for check-in procedures. Additionally, candidates should plan to be at the testing center for a minimum of 5 hours. This includes time to check-in, take the exam tutorial, the exam duration and the time to complete the post exam survey.

* You must bring a valid government-issued photo ID with a signature. If you are testing outside of your native country, you must provide a passport. Identification must be written in Latin characters, and contain your photograph along with your signature. Forms of identification that are expired will not be accepted. Candidates who fail to meet these requirements will not be allowed to test that day and will forfeit their full exam fee.

*You are provided 3.5 hours to complete the exam. A timer will be provided on your screen

Join MPI CRV's Strategic Partnership Program

We are excited to announce our plans for a brand new Strategic Partner Program with MPI CRV. Partnering with MPI CRV is an opportunity to reach MPI CRV members in all lines of the meeting and event planning business and at every level. Currently, there are 116 members in the MPI Connecticut River Valley chapter - all are invited and encouraged to attend monthly meetings which include educational and networking opportunities.

This revamped sponsorship program is developed to provide the Strategic Partners with opportunities to forge new relationships within the meeting planning communities within MPI. All of our packages are designed to maximize your exposure to our members. Look over the items and packages or contact us to design a customized package to meet your unique needs. Our goal is to add value to our relationship and to assist you in creating a return on your investment.
