CBO Quarterly Call & Panel Presentation
CBOs and LHDs are invited to join the panel discussion on 1/26/24 at 11:30 am with community advocates and public health stakeholders from Central California to learn how CBOs and LHDs work together to advocate for health and racial equity and how strategized collaboration contributes to improved health outcomes across the region. Healthcare Sustainability Working Group
The Healthcare Sustainability Working Group convened on January 10th. The group spent time discussing action steps within the identified priority areas:
Reimbursement rates
Reimagining the healthcare system
Promoting medical education in the region

Perceptions of Public Health Research
While we are waiting for approval from IRB to start collecting data, we are working on partnering with local CBOs to coordinate and facilitate focus groups within their counties. If you are interested in learning more, please check out the flyer.
Data Subcommittee Update
In December 2023, the Data Equity Principles that were developed by the Data Subcommittee were officially voted on and approved by the CCPHC Leadership Committee. The principles are intended to help local health department staff and others in the region embed equity into data practices. Western Forum for Migrant and Community Health: We would like to highlight this upcoming conference with many informative sessions on climate, health, and community collaboration. Please see the attached flyer or follow the link for more information and registration details.
Climate Resilience Nexus Event Update: Yesenia attended on 01/12 and connected with federal, state, and local partners to learn about the initiatives and financing resources currently available to address climate resilience. The main takeaways from the event were:
There is a wide range of financing for climate resilience initiatives/projects and climate change solutions.
Have co-ownership of projects with residents, CBOs, and the private sector to successfully acquire funding.
Build on existing partnerships in your communities and utilize the equity framework by asking yourself who is affected the most when taking action.
You don’t have to have all the answers or know all the jargon. If you have an idea, reach out to Technical Assistance, they are responsible to help you meet certain criteria.
