Organization Update

We've had a great start to our program year so far! GRCC is thrilled to announce our new Associate Director, Katie Kreutter (she / her). A native Rochesterian, Katie is a graduate of St. John Fisher College (B.A., Communications / Journalism) and received her MPA from SUNY Brockport’s downtown campus. With over a decade of experience in the nonprofit and government sectors, Katie is looking forward to connecting her passion for reducing carbon emissions with GRCC’s existing efforts.

Recent University of Rochester Graduate and Argonne National Lab's workforce development program intern Sahara Walto (B.A. Political Science, B.A. Environmental Studies) will continue through the summer helping to organize an upcoming EV technician training program and our fall Drive Electric event, will be assisting with efforts to implement a new Customer Relationship Management system, and is utilizing her design skills to update our website and promotional materials.

The organization has already grown and evolved as a result of their skills and contributions, and we are excited to continue working together to bring you the best that GRCC has to offer!

USDA Publishes Request for Information on the Production of Biofuel Feedstocks Using Climate-Smart Practices

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking public input on methods for quantifying, reporting, and verifying the impact of climate-smart farming practices on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from U.S.-grown biofuel feedstock crops. This input is being collected through a Request for Information to establish voluntary standards for biofuel feedstocks produced with practices that reduce GHG emissions and/or sequester soil carbon. These standards, authorized by section 2709 of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008, could be considered in international, national, or state clean transportation fuel policies to further incentivize climate-smart biofuel feedstock crops.

EV Charging Infrastructure Playbook

The Public EV Charging Infrastructure Playbook offers interactive resources to help communities, planning organizations, local and state governments, tribes, and other decision makers navigate important considerations when planning and deploying EV charging infrastructure.

This interactive resource was developed by the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation in partnership with DOE’s Clean Energy to Communities (C2C) program. The playbook will be released in two phases—the first set of modules is available now and offers resources on EV infrastructure plans; engagement; deployment strategies and site identification; and costs, funding, and revenue. Modules can be followed in order or used as standalone resources.
