For 25 years, the Fairfield Community Service Foundation (FCSF) served youth and seniors in Fairfield. FCSF did this through our signature Fun-On-The-Run program and a variety of other programs targeted at youth and seniors. In our 26th year, the pandemic has required FCSF to pivot to meet the needs of the community. The focus in 2020 has been meeting the needs of the community due to Covid-19 and the subsequent economic hardships. Read more: Accomplishments.
Fairfield Community Services Foundation partnered with Fairfield’s Quality of Life Task Force, Police and Fire Departments and Bethel Community Church on our annual backpack giveaway. Due to Covid-19, this year it was a drive-thru event. At the event, 724 backpacks with school supplies, 700 child masks, 1,900 adult masks and 1,600 bottles of hand sanitizer were provided to local families in need.
Fairfield Community Services Foundation partnered with the Fairfield Main Street Association and the Solano Affordable Housing Foundation, FCSF provided 356 hot meals to low-income seniors at Senior Manor. The meals were prepared by Downtown Fairfield restaurants and delivered over 5 weeks at the height of the shelter in place restrictions, helping both low-income seniors and Downtown restaurants.Read more
