The MWA Report
Summer 2021
Dear Clients and Friends,

I hope you and your loved ones are enjoying the summer. After facing so many travel restrictions last year, it’s encouraging to see so many of you taking trips around the world again. Though we are still mired in concern over the highly transmissible Covid-19 Delta variant, it feels like we have made it past the worst of the pandemic… let’s hope so.

In this summer edition of our client newsletter, you’ll find our economic commentary, news about an important life insurance carrier decision, and personal updates from our team members. As always, we thank you for your continued support and business.

All the best,

Bill
Quarterly Economic Commentary
Second Quarter, 2021
In this commentary, we raise three key questions that will shape markets in the second half of the year. First, will the V-shaped recovery continue? Second, will rising inflation force the Fed to change its monetary policy. Third, with inflation rising, why aren’t bond yields rising?
Bill's Brief
Principal to Exit Consumer Life Insurance
The old adage “the only constant is change” rang true this past month with Principal Financial Group announcing its plans to discontinue new sales of life insurance and fixed annuities to all retail customers by the end of the third quarter of this year.
What's Happening With Our Team?
“My wife and I traveled to the Philadelphia area earlier this month to visit our son, Ben, who is working as a counselor at a summer overnight camp. Since he has only a few days between coming home in mid-August and leaving for college, we took the opportunity to spoil him with some good food and essential air conditioning (it’s been a hotter-than-normal summer). Having grown up in this area, I was saddened to see the decimation of so many storefronts in Center City as a result of the riots and looting that took place last year. But as I walked by the “Rocky” statue near the Art Museum, I was reminded that this is the city of brotherly love and it will come back. At the end of July, we will help our daughter, Romy, move into a new apartment in Gainesville as she transitions from college to law school. By summer’s end, we will be empty nesters and looking forward to turning the page to the next chapter in our lives.”

"I am happy to be back at Miller Wealth Advisors! It has been great talking to and hearing from so many of our wonderful clients who have welcomed me back. The outpouring of support for me and my family is very much appreciated. Both my daughter and my husband are still on the road to recovery but have made great progress over the last year. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to take a vacation this summer but look forward to a few days away with family over the Labor Day weekend. Right now we are enjoying the last few weeks of summer break for our kids and excited for them to start back to school on August 10th – in person!"

"When I was 5 years old, I told my mother that I wanted to be an artist; drawing and painting have always brought me great joy and allowed me to channel my inner creativity. As I got older, my creative side was set aside while I pursued technical skills throughout high school and college. Now that I have completed my undergraduate degree, I have begun to allow myself some time each week to revisit my childhood passion by taking drawing classes at my local art school. I have enjoyed learning the rules, concepts, and techniques behind the art form. Taking these classes has added a new and exciting dimension to my life by reigniting my interest in a lifelong hobby."
