This spring, Barbara Shuffler joined Buncombe Adult Day as our first Senior Companion since 2020! The Senior Companion Program is sponsored locally by Land of Sky Regional Council and serves volunteers and clients in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, and Transylvania counties. Barbara has participated in the program for 12 years, previously serving at the VA, DayStay, and an adult day program in Mountain Home.
Never one to sit at home, the Senior Companion Program has allowed Barbara to continue to pour her heart and soul back into the community. "I'm thankful and blessed to be here at MountainCare," she explains. Each day, Barbara arrives determined to make others smile. We're so glad you're here, Barbara!
