UC Davis Health's Anchor Institution Mission for Community Health (AIM) is a commitment to intentionally apply UCDH's long-term, place-based economic power and human capital in partnership with community to mutually benefit the long-term well being of both. | | | | |
Our decision many years ago to adopt an Anchor Institution Mission, as part of being a 150-year-old landmark, is now delivering very clear results that UC Davis Health is advancing health equity, economic inclusion, and community well-being in our area. In times where these words, and their value, are being questioned, it’s important to have solid, provable results of our actions. And we do.
UC Davis Health has redefined what it means to be an anchor institution. We are using our economic power as the region’s largest employer, along with our compassion, ingenuity, and resources, to lift up our neighbors. These include the patients, the people, and the communities that we ultimately serve, not just for health care, but for the public health. Our Anchor Institution Mission (“AIM”) delivers on this.
Participants and contributors from program directors to procurement officers, community liaisons to front-line staff, have created tangible, lasting impacts in our surrounding neighborhoods. Their, and your, efforts are transforming lives and setting a national example of how health institutions like UC Davis Health can be agents of positive, systemic change.
To all who have contributed to the Anchor Institution Mission – thank you. Your commitment to community empowerment exemplifies our UC Davis core values. As we look to the future, your teamwork ensures that UC Davis Health remains not only a center of excellence in care and research, but also a great place to work and a true partner in building healthier and more resilient communities.
Stay well.

With a focus on addressing homelessness, the committee sought to support wellspring in the form of financial and volunteer support...Read more
