It was another busy quarter at Keep Lee County Beautiful! From summer cleanups to one of our largest volunteer events of the year, our volunteers and community partners continued to make a difference across Lee County.
Quarter by the Numbers
🧹 40 cleanup events
👥 651 volunteers
⏱️ 1,689 volunteer hours
🗑️ 11,717 pounds of litter and debris removed
🛣️ 24 miles of roadside cleaned
🌿 15 acres cleaned
🌊 23 miles of shoreline cleaned
The quarter kicked off with our annual 5th of July Beach Cleanup, where volunteers helped remove litter and debris from Fort Myers Beach following the busy holiday weekend. Our dedicated adoption groups stayed active throughout the summer, completing 10 cleanups and removing 221 pounds of litter from roadways, neighborhoods, and public spaces.
September brought one of our biggest volunteer efforts of the year, the International Coastal Cleanup. Nearly 400 volunteers came together at 15 locations across Lee County and removed more than 4,000 pounds of litter and marine debris from our beaches, waterways, parks, and communities.
Much of the quarter was also spent preparing for a busy fall season. Next up are our GO GREEN Golf Fundraiser on October 23rd and Monofilament Madness Marine Cleanup on October 31st.
Thank you to every volunteer, partner, sponsor, and supporter who helped make another impactful quarter possible. Together, we are keeping Lee County clean, green, and beautiful!
With gratitude,
Your Friends at KLCB
