United Church of Santa Fe, with Albuquerque's Coro Lux, offers a nation-wide virtual event, focused on the power and witness of African American singing traditions.
The text and music of African American Spirituals and Gospel Music--avowed favorites of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.--speak to the hearts of those yearning for change throughout the ages. Their historical meanings, as well as how they can help us persevere today, will be at the center of our time together on Saturday January 16th.
The virtual format for this event invites attendees from all over the country to experience the power and community of music from the comfort of their own homes. Join us!
Register at abqcorolux.org/tickets Tickets are only $37.50 for a full day of inspiration and song! Proceeds (after production expenses) go to the NAACP’s Scholarship Fund.
The event has been in the works for several months. What we witnessed this week in Washington D.C., and around the country make it even more timely.
