Dear CommUNITY friends,
Your Board of Trustees met with the Reopening Team on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, and we are delighted to announce that, after taking all of the Reopening Team’s recommendations into consideration, we have voted to approve a reopening plan that paves the way for us to resume in-person services on Sunday, July 11. We are getting ready to welcome you back to our sacred space!
Here’s what you need to know right now:
Masks will be required of ALL attendees (vaccinated or not), at all times while in the building.
This precaution is being taken to ensure the safety of our older congregants in our small space.
A capacity limit of 50 congregants in the sanctuary at one time has been established. To ensure this limit is not exceeded, a reservations system will be implemented.
Phone reservations can be made up until 12 noon Friday; online reservations until 11:59 PM Friday.
When you arrive, you will be met by a greeter who will confirm your reservation. The greeter will give you an offering envelope if requested, and will also ask you to choose between a red, yellow, or green sticker to wear:
- Red means that you would like everyone around you to maintain a 6’ social distance.
- Yellow means you’re OK with elbow bumps, but prefer others to stay about 3 feet away.
- Green means you’re OK sitting next to someone in the sanctuary, and might even want a handshake or a hug.
A “seater” will seat you in the sanctuary according to your sticker choice. Couples and families will be allowed to sit together.
Sanctuary will be as ventilated as possible. Doors and windows will remain open, weather permitting, and ceiling fans will remain on. (Back door will have a barrier to prevent unwanted critters from entering, accomplished by a thick line of cayenne pepper across the threshold and/or cement blocks and lath.)
Although we still can’t open the Community Room for an indoor social hour after service, all are encouraged to commune with each other outside.
Covid-safe cleaning protocols will be implemented and maintained.
In joy and gratitude that we can be together again very soon,
Tom McCrory, President, Board of Trustees
Karen Roberts, Vice President, Board of Trustees
