Worse Day Ever

Today was the absolute worst day ever
And don’t try to convince me that
There’s something good in every day
Because, when you take a closer look,
This world is a pretty evil place.
Even if
Some goodness does shine through once in a while
Satisfaction and happiness don’t last.
And it’s not true that
It’s all in the mind and heart
True happiness can be obtained
Only if one’s surroundings are good
It’s not true that good exists
I’m sure you can agree that
The reality
My attitude
It’s all beyond my control
And you’ll never in a million years hear me say that
Today was a good day.

An important letter from Rev Kathleen Flynn:
Dear Unity Santa Fe CommUnity
With Rev Brendalyn's retirement and my work interests evolving, it is with a grateful heart, I have given Rev. Brendalyn notice that I am officially stepping away from the role of Associate Minister at Unity Santa Fe. I have only been sporadically active in the role the last 6 months. My beginnings at Unity Santa Fe were first with the Welcoming Team, then the Prayer Chaplain Program. Rev Brendalyn then appointed me Associate Minister of Pastoral Care. With her announcement to retire in the fall, and after discussions with Rev. Carrie Kenyon at Unity Worldwide Ministries, it is appropriate to depart any official capacity now, giving the Board of Trustees the ability to assess what resources are available to their work in guiding the ministry until a new minister is on board.
Although this process of engaging a new minister (after Rev Brendalyn's 26+ years of devotion to Unity Santa Fe (USFe)) may seem chaotic to some; it simply is the element of change that makes it feel that way. The unknown is unfolding in perfect Divine Order. We get to walk our talk through this time of adventure and advancement for USFe. My gratitude to Rev Brendalyn, the Board of Trustees, congregants, the Prayer Chaplains and other volunteers for your kind welcome to Santa Fe 3 1/2 years ago. I am beyond grateful for our journey together. I trust the outcome of this change will be the perfect out-picturing of next steps for this amazing commUnity.
During this process, it feels right for me to step away so decisions are made without a minister's influence and to give the new minister a clear and uncomplicated circumstance in which to launch his or her own ministry. In the interim, I remain available to be an occasional Sunday speaker. I am holding you all in my heart,
Rev Kathleen
