QuiC Christmas Party, December 16, 4-6pm

Join friends of QuiC on Saturday, December 16 at 4pm for a Christmas Party! We will play a few games, share a meal, and have an ornament exchange for those who would like to participate. We will provide both a meat and vegan main dish, and you are encouraged to sign up to bring a dish (if able) if you are coming. Use this form to RSVP for the party, and to indicate if you will bring a dish. Please do RSVP if you plan on joining so we know how much food to prepare. We look forward to celebrating this festive season together!

Advent Devotional Writing Series: Making Manifest

It's not too late to join our Advent devotional writing series using the book Making Manifest: On Faith, Creativity, and the Kingdom at Hand (by Dave Harrity). The book contains devotional meditations and exercises designed for personal spiritual growth and innovative community building through 28 meditations and short projects anchored in poetry, prayer, writing, contemplation, and personal reflection. We are halfway through the series, but it's never too late to start writing! For more information about this series, including how to sign up and purchase the workbook, click here. Questions? Contact Michael Seewer (mseewer@saintmarks.org).

Queer Conversations

Next event on Sunday, January 7 at 5:30pm in Leffler Living Room

Join us on Sunday, January 7 at 5:30pm in Leffler Living Room after Choral Evensong for the next Queer Conversations. We will be joined by Canon Daugherty, and Rachel and Russ Crosbie as co-facilitators of the conversation, discussing how queer people can find meaning in religious expression while also honoring their gender, gender identity, and orientation, and how the church's theology affirms and nurtures this integration. We will have refreshments starting at 5:30, and the conversation will start about 5:45. We are planning on this being an in-person event, but please let us know if you would prefer to join remotely so we can accommodate if needed.

Looking forward: at the February 4 Queer Conversations, we will be joined by Michael Garrett (MS, CCM), a health equity and case/care management consultant, who will lead us in a conversation about LGBTQ+ healthcare. And in March, we will be joined by The Reverend Linzi Stahlecker as we have a conversation about grief.

Comfort & Peace at Christmas

Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 7pm in the Cathedral Nave

Join us on December 17 at 7pm in the nave for Comfort & Peace at Christmas (formerly known as Blue Christmas). This service holds space for prayerful care and companionship for those who find the holiday season a difficult time, especially for those who have experienced loss, grief, or hardship. This liturgy will include scripture, candle lighting, and healing prayer.

Please note: the 7pm Contemplative Eucharist in Thomsen Chapel will not be offered this evening due to this special liturgy in the nave.

Christmas & New Year's at Saint Mark's

Full list of all seasonal services here.

Join us in celebration of Christmas at one of many liturgies:

Christmas Eve: Festive services of Holy Eucharist at 4pm, 7:30pm, and 11pm (each service will have festive music and carols offered before the liturgy begins). Each of these services will be livestreamed, and the 11pm liturgy will include incense.

Christmas Day: Holy Eucharist in the Cathedral Nave at 10am, also livestreamed.

New Year's Eve: We celebrate the seventh night of Christmas in the cathedral nave from 6pm to midnight with music and a Labyrinth Walk, concluding at midnight with a celebration of Holy Eucharist to welcome in the New Year. This evening is a "must-see" if you've never been! More info about New Year's Eve's festivities at Saint Mark's here. The Office of Compline will occur as normal at 9:30 in the nave.
