Transgender Day of Remembrance: THIS MONDAY, November 20
Join us on Monday, November 20 at 8pm in the cathedral nave or via livestream for a Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) Eucharist and Vigil. TDOR is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Saint Mark's Cathedral and Queer in Christ will offer this special liturgy immediately following Cathedral Yoga in the nave. Join us in person, or via livestream. The Reverend Linzi Stahlecker will preside.

Advent Devotional Writing Series: Making Manifest
Join the Queer in Christ ministry for an Advent devotional writing series using the book Making Manifest: On Faith, Creativity, and the Kingdom at Hand (by Dave Harrity). The book contains devotional meditations and exercises designed for personal spiritual growth and innovative community building through 28 meditations and short projects anchored in poetry, prayer, writing, contemplation, and personal reflection. Since Advent is only 3 weeks long this year, the writing program begins on November 28, and we will meet on the following 4 Saturday afternoons (December 2, 9, 16, and 23) either on Zoom or in person to reflect on the week's devotions. The weekly group meetings will be facilitated by Michael Seewer, with Rose Hazard and Michael Perera as occasional guest facilitators. To join this devotional writing series, and to purchase a copy of the workbook, email Michael Seewer (mseewer@saintmarks.org). For more information about this series, including how to sign up and purchase the workbook, click here.

Queer Conversations: December & January Updates
Next event on January 7 at 5:30 in Leffler Living Room (we will not meet in December)
Join us on Sunday, January 7 at 5:30pm in Leffler Living Room after Choral Evensong for Queer Conversations. We will be joined by Canon Daugherty, and Rachel and Russ Crosbie as co-facilitators of the conversation, discussing how queer people can find meaning in religious expression while also honoring their gender, gender identity, and orientation, and how the church's theology affirms and nurtures this integration. We will have refreshments starting at 5:30, and the conversation will start about 5:45.
Note: We will not gather on December 3 due to the O Antiphons liturgy. All are invited to attend that liturgy at 7pm in the cathedral nave or via livestream.

The Season of Advent and the
O Antiphons Liturgy
The liturgical season of Advent, a season of hopeful waiting and expectation as we approach Christmas, begins on December 3. As is our tradition at Saint Mark's, we will mark this first Sunday of Advent with the O Antiphons liturgy at 7pm in the Cathedral Nave and livestreamed. If you've not been to this liturgy, you don't want to miss it! Four different choirs will offer music, we will hear stories of scripture about the anticipation of the coming of the Messiah into our world and our lives, and we will meditate on the 7 prophesied names of the Messiah from Hebrew Scriptures. Incense will be offered throughout the liturgy. Consider joining us in person or online at 7pm on December 3. And may you have a blessed season of Advent as we approach the Christmas season!

Saint Mark’s Cathedral acknowledges that we gather on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People, who are still here, and we honor with gratitude the land itself and the life of all the Coast Salish tribes. [Learn more]
