Ministry Fair: This Sunday!

We will have the Saint Mark’s Ministry Fair this Sunday after both the 9am and 11am liturgies in the cathedral nave. We are looking for one or two volunteers to sit at our Queer in Christ Table after both the 9am and 11am services.

If you might be available and willing to sit at the QuiC table (and have conversations with people about the ministry as they walk by), please let Michael Seewer know (mseewer@saintmarks.org)! We will have brochures and other information about the ministry on the table as well.

QuiC Meet & Greets become

Queer Conversations

First Sundays after Evensong at 5:30

Starting on October 1, our Sunday Meet & Greets after Evensong will become “Queer Conversations”. Join us on the first Sunday each month at 5:30 after Choral Evensong (usually in Leffler Living room) for Queer Conversations. We will have different conversation topics each month. At our October event, join Communications Director Gregory Bloch in conversation about the experiences of queer people from Saint Mark’s history. We will have refreshments starting at 5:30, and the conversation will start at 5:45.

October 8, 12:30pm

Join members of Queer in Christ on October 8 at 12:30 p.m. for a visit to Lower Queen Anne to grab some coffee and visit The Fishbowl, one of Seattle’s newest art galleries designed specifically for QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) artists, creatives, and community members. Want to join? Meet us at 12:30 on the cathedral’s front porch, and we will take the bus to Lower Queen Anne together. Questions? Contact Michael Seewer (mseewer@saintmarks.org).

QuiC Leadership Meetings

First Fridays of October, January, April

On October 6, we will start having quarterly leadership meetings (instead of monthly). These will be on the first Friday evening of the following months: October, January and April (there will not be a leadership meeting in July). Consider joining one of these leadership meetings to discuss what events we plan for the future! Contact Michael Seewer (mseewer@saintmarks.org) if you’d like to attend.

The Rubric article about Queer in Christ

The Fall 2023 edition of The Rubric, the Cathedral's magazine about ministries, includes an article about the Queer in Christ ministry! The article talks about the origins of the ministry, and discusses some of the initial events we've hosted in our first year. We've done a lot so far!
