THIS WEEK
Dear Quest Noar Families,

We had a wonderful session at Quest Noar last week! Rabbi David's confirmation class continued their focus on welcoming community leaders. This week, the class welcomed Rav. Shai Cherry from Adath Jeshurun. It's great for our students to learn about other perspectives from these guests.

In our cooking elective, we continued with our Tu B'shevat theme. The class made a delicious Vegan Walnut Pesto served over pasta.  As always, check out the "Recipe of the Week" below! During our break, all students had a chance to eat some dates or pomelit (grapefruit hybrid from Israel also called "sweetie") for Tu B'shevat. In our Purim Spiel elective, it's all about the "Mamma Mia Megillah" based on the music of Abba! Our Quest Noar community is acting, singing, dancing, building sets and more! Mark your calendars for Monday March 6th to see our Quest Noar students in this fabulous Purim celebration!

Please mark your calendars and RSVP for these upcoming KIFTY events:

The spiel is back! This year we will present the Mamma Mia Megillah, retelling the story of Purim through the music of ABBA! All talents (singing, acting, dancing, stage crew, costuming, makeup, etc.) are needed for our production, presented on March 6th and 7th!

MOVING TRADITIONS
Antisemitism & Teen Wellbeing Raising Up Teens - a webinar for parents and educators Wednesday, February 15th 8-9:15 p.m.
Antisemitism – its rise in prevalence and heightened anxiety around how it impacts the Jewish community – is keeping many of us up at night. When it comes to how it affects our teens, we may not know what to do or say, or even how to start the conversation. Join Moving Traditions for an opportunity to look at antisemitism through the lens of supporting teens in the ways they need it most: personal wellbeing (shleimut), caring relationships (hesed), and a Jewish and feminist vision of equity and justice (tzedek). Through these lenses, we will explore questions like:
  • How can I help teens stand up for themselves when they experience antisemitism and how can I help them stand up for others?
  • How does antisemitism affect my teen’s Jewish identity?
  • When I hear about antisemitism happening at my child’s school, what is my responsibility as a parent?
This important conversation will feature a panel of experts representing different approaches to these questions and our teens’ needs when faced with antisemitism. We will also share resources and conversation starters to help feel better prepared to approach conversations with the teens in your life in ways that are supportive and useful for them.
