Remembering Jimmy Stone

Louisville Water lost a member of our family last month. On July 22, Jimmy Stone (on right), a member of our fire hydrant crews, was killed in a tragic accident.

Mourners paid their respects at the funeral on July 27, including many employees and area fire departments.

Stone's fellow hydrant crew member Chad Harper (on left) is recovering from his serious injuries.

Please keep both families in your thoughts and prayers.

Join us Walking Wednesday on August 14!

One of the most beautiful places in Louisville is the Crescent Hill Gatehouse. And during our popular Walking Wednesday series, you can take a rare peek inside this three-story Gothic structure designed to resemble a castle along the Rhine River in Germany. S pecial this month, Comfy Cow will have ice cream available for purchase at the reservoir from 5 p.m to 7 p.m! Treat yourself to a back-to-school scoop!

Louisville Water staff open the historic Gothic-style Gatehouse to visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It’s located on Reservoir Avenue between Frankfort Avenue and Brownsboro Road and free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!

Run, walk, and have fun -- the pure tap 5K is Sept. 7!

Kick off the fall season with a run, stroll, or hop at the annual pure tap 5K! The race will start at the historic Louisville Water Tower at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 7. You still have a few weeks to get ready. Check our social media accounts frequently for helpful hydration and running tips. Follow us @louisvillewater

The Louisville pure tap® 5K is the first race in the Louisville Sports Commission's Fall Runathon, including the Norton Sports Health 10K on Sept. 21, 2019 and the Urban Bourbon Half Marathon presented by Jim Beam® on Oct. 19. Register today!

Come to the Water for Life event!

On Sunday, August 18, enjoy this free festival from 1-4 p.m. at the Big Four Lawn right by the walking bridge. At Water for Life , children and adults can taste, touch, and experience all things water. There will be interactive exhibits, games, and bounce houses for kids as well. Come join in on the fun and learn a little something too!
