Dear Eastern North Dakota Synod,
Over the last year as I considered standing for election to a second term, I have been listening deeply for the movement of the Holy Spirit. As a candidate for bishop over the most recent months, I listened to the words not only that I shared out of my discernment but also the words of my fellow candidates. Out of that discernment and listening, I hear us heading in new directions in vitality ministry. In order to help us best head in new directions, I have brought Deacon Erin Power’s ministry with the synod to a close and will be bringing on a new Director of Evangelical Mission (DEM) as soon as possible.
I am grateful for the work Deacon Erin has done, especially in helping congregations of this synod open up to and embrace adaptive change and consider the myriad of ways they can faithfully be church in this day. I wish Deacon Erin all the best in the next chapter of her life and ministry. I invite you to utilize this electronic card as a way to express your wishes for her as well.
