Pastor Dr. Kent Marrs was the pastor of Keller UMC when KUMC moved from the old Pecan Street church building to the current location on Johnson Road. He was the pastor who baptized Pastor Jason and confirmed both Pastor Estee and Jason. However, we were not the only ones who were touched by the light and love of Pastor Kent Marrs. He died from COVID complications on February 10. His wife, Diane, was at his side as he gave his Spirit back to God in Christ. If you wanted to hear/see a short reflection from Pastor Jason telling a story of Pastor Kent, you can see that here. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lenten Study - Ignatian Workout
Tonya Minton leads an Ignatian spirituality study where we will apply and bring life to the principles of discernment, reflection and action. This study is a guide for us to grow in love and transformation through this time of preparation known as Lent. This study uses daily exercises to allow us to pause from the busyness of life to take time to sit in God's presence and reflect on the work God is doing in us and for the world through us. Tuesdays, February 23-March 23, 7-8pm, via Zoom. Click to request access!

Lenten Study - Violence in the Bible
Pastor Jason leads a lecture/study on themes such as sacrifice, violence, collective mobs, repentance and forgiveness. The first several weeks will explore mimetic theory and the rise of ritual sacrifice in the course of humanity as suggested by Rene Girard. By the end of the study, participants should gain a lens which gives a basic understanding of mimetic theory, the role of violence in culture, the origin of scapegoats and monsters, and why Christianity undercuts violence. Using the book of Jonah, participants would practice using this lens to help better understand the Bible. Wednesdays, February 24-March 24, 7-8pm, via Zoom. Click to request study access!

Lenten Study - The Good and Beautiful God
Pastor Lauren leads a study of the book, The Good and Beautiful God by James Bryan Smith. Smith says that we all have ideas about God and how God works in our lives. These thoughts determine not only who we are, but how we live. In the pages of this book, we will journey together as we discover who God is through the guidance of Scripture, experience and spiritual practices. Thursdays, February 25-March 25, 7-8pm via Zoom. Click to request access!

Grief and Spirituality
Loss happens! None of us is immune and when these losses occur, we grieve. You are invited to participate in a time of sharing to understand your grief, how it affects or may affect you, and how your spiritual foundation can help you live in the days to come. This is not a therapy group: it's a safe time for learning and healing. Facilitated by Rev. Eldon Reynolds and Polly Soulsby. The group will meet on Monday evenings, March 1, 8 and 15, 7-8pm via Zoom. Click here to register and gain access. If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Eldon Reynolds.

Music for the Soul
For so many of us, music has been a massive source of comfort, catharsis and affirmation throughout the pandemic. Click here to listen to the soundtrack and  heartbeat of your church family and find affirmation, catharsis and hope.
Water Filters Still Available
On Saturday, February 20, Water for Life and Keller UMC partnered for a water filter distribution event. This event came together quickly in response to the boil water order that resulted from our historic winter weather event.
Did You Forget to Register
for Lent in a Box?

No worries! We have a handful of boxes left and it's not too late to get started. Contact Kristin Springer to make pick up arrangements. Lent in a Box is a variety of prayer practices, rituals and hands-on activities for families as we journey together through this season. We hope this resource reminds your family of the ways we can live as faith followers of Jesus as we look forward to Easter with hope.
College Care Box Pick Up
Attention College Care Ministry participants! This Sunday, February 28, 10am-1pm, we are asking that you stop by the church to pick up your Small Flat Rate box for your college student(s). Because there is a forecast for rain, we will have pick up under the porte cochere. With the box(es) you will also receive Student Information forms and Adopter Instructions. Virtual Choir for Kids

Attention all parents of kids, and kids who love music - grades K-6! Kid's Choir has resumed via Zoom on Wednesdays from 6:30-7pm and will be learning fun songs for Palm Sunday and Mother's Day. We know it's hard to do this apart, but we will still have great fun together. It helps maintain our connections, feeds the love of music and enriches the congregation through our "virtual" performances. All kids in grades K-6 are invited to join us - we would love to "see" you there! Request access here for our zoom link.
