Backpack Packing Event
KUMC partners with four local Keller ISD elementary schools to help provide "backpack" meals for those on free/reduced lunches and in need. With COVID restrictions, we are limiting the number of families volunteering at any given time to allow enough social distancing. October 14, 4-8pm, we offer a perfect opportunity to serve as a family together.

KUMC Resource Center is open Tuesdays, 10am-1pm and Wednesdays, 4-7pm. If you know someone that needs help with food in this time of uncertainty, please refer them. The RC served 268 individuals last week.

Youth Ministries
(7th-12th Grade)

Family Groups

Our Youth Council has been working hard to brainstorm opportunities for connection and fellowship. Therefore, we are excited to announce the launch of a new, student-led ministry for 8th-12th graders, Family Groups! Student leaders are contacting their peers about joining a Family Group with other youth their age.

Family Groups are a way to keep our students connected to each other and the life of the church. In their groups, student leaders will provide information about upcoming events and facilitate opportunities for group members to get to know one another. We hope these groups provide a greater sense of community and friendship among students at KUMC. If your child has not been contacted and is interested in joining a group, please contact Abigail Herrington.

We will have the golf carts available to help you transport your family and chairs, as well as a family drop off zone behind the playground. Specially marked handicapped parking will be available along the far side of the parking lot behind the Family Life Center. Dress comfortably and for added safety, we ask you to keep your face masks on throughout the worship service. Morning worship will also be Livestreamed at 8:30am.

Influenza Prevention

October 6 and 7, your KUMC Faith Community Nurses, in conjunction with the Resource Center, hosted a free drive-through flu clinic. The clinic was sponsored by Texas Health Resources as part of their community outreach program focused on the uninsured and underinsured. With reports of flu vaccine shortages in the news and continued concern over COVID-19 on our minds, we present a Q & A on seasonal influenza and vaccines as the first in a series of articles on influenza and related respiratory diseases. Next month we will cover flu symptoms, testing and treatment and how to differentiate flu from other respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.
