Music & Worship Arts  Zoom Chat
 
Wednesdays, 7:30-8pm, Carl Lorey, Director of Music and Worship Arts, will be on this chat where choir members, celebration ringers, brass ensemble and dance ministry members will have time to check in. We will not rehearse, instead, we will talk about  plans for days ahead, answer questions, take prayer requests and then pray to conclude our time together. All you will need to do is click the link to download the Zoom software and join the meeting!

This Sunday is Palm Sunday and we'll celebrate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The Jewish people had one idea of what Messiah would be. Jesus had another. Let's explore how our expectations of God are also limited.

It's Not Palm Sunday without a Palm Parade!
We need your help! Create a palm branch - either grab a palm branch near your home, or get creative and craft something or make yourself a palm out of paper! Record a video of your whole household waving your palms and send these videos to  Kristin Springer  by 8pm, Thursday, April 2! Watch this video for ideas!

Holy Week Packets for Adults - April 4 
We recognize that not everyone has the capability to connect with us online. Therefore, we are preparing a printed packet for Holy Week. This includes devotionals and ideas for you to celebrate Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday at home. Children's packets will also be available for pick up.  Saturday, April 4, 10am-12pm, we invite you come to the porte cochere of KUMC for a drive through pick up for these resources. 

Eggstravaganza To Go - April 4
We are so sad that we not able to be together for Eggstravaganza this weekend but there's still fun to be had and memories to be made. We've created a special packet for you to have some "eggceptional" fun along with a few resources to help you prepare to celebrate Easter as a family. Please sign up on the link below and make plans to swing by the church this Saturday from 10-12pm to pick up a packet for each child in your family. We'll toss you your packet and give you a social distancing appropriate air hug.  
Holy Week Continues

Maundy Thursday, April 9
Online Worship at 7pm
Our Maundy Thursday service will be participatory and will involve time for you to share in ritual actions in your home. You can gather the following supplies in advance of Maundy Thursday worship to be prepared: perfume or oil for anointing; a bowl, water, soap and towel for washing; bread and juice for Holy Communion.
 
Good Friday, April 10
Online Worship at 7pm
Our Good Friday service will focus on the seven last words of Christ. This service will lean heavily on art and music to help us enter into the passion of Christ. Seven candles will be extinguished throughout the service. You can participate by preparing seven candles in your home that you can extinguish as you worship with us.
 
Easter Sunday, April 12
Online Worship

Holy Week culminates on the most triumphant day of the Christian year - Easter Sunday. On Easter we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the enduring truth that goodness is stronger than evil and love is stronger than hate! Easter will be different this year as we will not be able to worship together in person. But we still hope you will worship with us online to celebrate the hope we have in Christ Jesus our Lord!
Online Prayer and Study

Do You Suddenly Have Lots of Free Time and Enjoy Sewing? 
Sisters of Sewing circle is making face masks for the medical teams at JPS and we are extending this opportunity even further! If you would like to donate face masks to JPS we encourage you to make some at home. Cotton materials preferred.  Here's a link to useful information and instructions.  Drop masks in the bin outside KUMC Offices. Masks will be picked up, washed and sent to JPS! Questions? Contact  Pastor Lauren.

KUMC Resource Center is operating as a mobile pantry. Clients remain in their vehicles and food is delivered to their car, Tuesdays, 10am-1pm and Wednesdays, 4-7pm. If you know someone that needs help with food in this time of uncertainty, please refer them to the Resource Center for a free box of food. The box will include enough food to get through 1-2 weeks complete with meats, eggs, fresh vegetables and more. Sign up to serve here!

Senior Weekend

Graduation is almost here, and we're excited to celebrate our high school seniors in the class of 2020! Senior Weekend is a time for the congregation to honor students as they leave the youth program and enter adulthood. May 17 includes special moments of recognition in worship as well as a luncheon hosted for seniors and their families. Registration required to participate.  Get details here!
