Hearts Turning to God and Neighbor

Keller UMC Kids' Choir Is Getting Fired Up!

Building on the fun we had last year with Oh, Jonah!, rehearsals have begun for the KUMC Kids' Choir spring musical, Fired Up! There is still time to join the fun. Kids in grades K-6th are invited on Wednesdays at 6pm in the Chancel Choir Room. I've been working with children's choirs for over thirty years.

Our third and fourth grade Scoop and Serve meets the fourth Sunday each month. January 22, meet in the Family Life Center, 4:30-5:30pm, prior to Mission 1025, for fellowship, discipleship, community and a whole lot of fun! Parents and siblings join us at 5:30pm for dinner and backpack stuffing. Volunteers needed to help with games and small group time.

Celebrate Recovery

Do you have New Year's resolutions? Is your goal to get in shape, drink less, spend less money, stop being so anxious, better care for the relationships around you? All of these things are wonderful. But what if instead of willing ourselves to do something that (if we're honest with ourselves) we are likely to let go of by February, we address why we do the things we don't want to be doing? I hope you will make plans this New Year to join us for Celebrate Recovery as we remind ourselves of the words from 2 Corinthians 12:9; but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

Celebrate Recovery Schedule (come to part of it, or all of it): 6:30pm-dinner • 7pm-worship • 8pm-groups

I will save you a seat!

Grace and peace,

Pastor Lauren

Baby Celebration

We love babies! And we know that babies join families many different ways. If you welcomed a new baby/child into your home in 2022, we want to celebrate with you! January 29 we will introduce and pray a blessing for those families that have welcomed new babies/children this past year in worship at 9 and 11:15am.

Take Care of Yourself

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

In the Greatest Commandment, Jesus tells us to “love our neighbor as ourselves.” As a church, our focus is most commonly on serving our neighbors. But if there are times when we struggle to love our neighbor, could it be because deep down we struggle to love ourselves? Caring for ourselves is often much lower on our priority list, especially as we seek to be in service to the world. Caring for ourselves can seem prideful and selfish. And yet, even Jesus took time away from the crowds when he was teaching. In this series, we will begin the new year with a conversation about loving ourselves as we love others.
