Non-EMV IPP350 Pin Pads: What To Do With Them?
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RETURN THE OLD, NON-EMV PIN PADS!
At one time, you may have heard us tell you that in order to avoid being charged, you must return the hardware--Intuit has let us know that you do NOT need to return the old pin pads.
We do suggest you hang onto the non-EMV pin pads, rather than throw them away. If you choose to do this,
please clearly mark them NON-EMV so you don't confuse them, especially if you have multiple pin pads. Feel free to store the old one in the back should you need it in an emergency situation (perhaps if your new one breaks and you are waiting for a replacement). While these aren't compliant, they will still be able to accept payments in emergency/circumstantial situations. Keep in mind, you will not be able to "dip" the chip cards and when using the old machines and will not be compliant.
You may hang on to the old GoPayment swipes or you can simply recycle them.
IF for any reason you do want to return the old pin pads, you want to be sure to dispose of them in a secure manner. Remember, it is not required that you return the old hardware, but if you wish, you may send them to:
