QuickNews TV: Junior High Crime Scene Lesson
One junior high class investigated a fake crime scene based off of the book "The Outsiders." They got to participate in a hands-on learning activity that allowed them to act as media, police, and medical examiners and use real-world investigation techniques like testing DNA and taking photos.

Nixa Education Foundation Seeking Donations and Sponsorships
NEF will hold its annual Gala on Friday, May 3 , at the DoubleTree Hotel in Springfield. The event celebrates our commitment to Nixa Public Schools by awarding classroom grants as well as recognizing milestones and achievements of NPS faculty and staff. Donations to NEF for the Gala help underwrite the dinners for Nixa staff and provide funds for the classroom grants. Grants awarded this year will reach a cumulative total of $100,000! Sponsorship levels include:

  • $1,000 donation includes 4 complimentary tickets to the Gala
  • $500 donation includes 2 complimentary tickets to the Gala
  • $250 donation includes 1 complimentary ticket to the Gala (Additional tickets for the event may be purchased for $30)

ALL donations, regardless of the amount, are gratefully appreciated. Please contact NEF at NEF@nixaschools.net if you would like to make a donation or become a Gala sponsor.

Mark Your Calendar for the 6th Annual NEST Event
The time is quickly approaching for our 6th annual  Nixa Eagles Soaring Together (NEST) Rally . NEST is an event created to team students of all abilities served by our special services department with high school athletes for a night of relationship building and lots of fun. This year's event will be on Thursday, March 28 at the Nixa High School. Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the event will start at 6 p.m.

The deadline to register is Monday, March 18! Families can register through their SchoolPay account. An email went out on Friday (2/22/19) to families of students eligible to participate in this event with the link for registration. If you have any questions, please contact the Special Services Office at 417-449-3272 or speak with your child's special education case manager.
Statewide Tornado Drill on March 5
On Tuesday, March 5 , Missouri will hold its state-wide tornado drill at 10 a.m. Sirens will sound and tests will be run on weather radios and other alert devices. This is a good chance to make sure your alerts work in the event of severe weather. In case of severe weather, the make-up test day is March 7.
Support Project Graduation by Joining their Dodge Ball Team
Come out to Aldersgate Church on March 1 from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. for some friendly competition with a few games of dodge ball. This event benefits the graduating class of 2019. Sign up your team for just $5 below.
