June development news collage

June has been an active month for Holladay. We opened our 18th hotel in Burbank, IL, completed a third-party industrial development for Barley Properties in Valparaiso, IN and broke ground on the development of Quincy Station in Westmont, IL. We also closed on a 5.84-acre land sale in Indianapolis, IN, obtained a new management contract in Munster, IN and welcomed two new hires and another summer intern. New Project:
  • Quincy Station - Holladay Properties has begun development of a new, mixed-use multi-family residential community in Westmont, IL. Construction began on June 2 and is expected to wrap up in December 2021. The project includes a five-story residential building with basement and first floor parking and four stories of residential units. Learn more...

  • Barley Properties - Holladay's third-party development for Barley Properties in Valparaiso, IN is now complete. The 65,592 square foot multi-tenant flex/industrial facility is located at 2640 Barley Road and has already welcomed its first tenant, TLC Companies. The building has multiple suites available for lease and offers 24-foot clear ceiling height, utility infrastructure to accommodate a variety of users, and dock and drive-in doors available for each suite.   • WoodSpring Suites - Holladay's eighth WoodSpring Suites by Choice Hotels property is now open in Burbank, IL. This represents Holladay's 18th hotel development and features 123 fully-furnished rooms as well as a spacious lobby, guest laundry, and fitness center. Learn more...

  • Tru by Hilton - Baltimore - Holladay is developing a $20 million, eight-story, 140-room Tru by Hilton hotel in Baltimore, MD. Construction began in February 2019 and should wrap up in August 2020. The hotel is expected to open in September with Holladay Hospitality Group serving as the management company. Learn more...
  • Tru by Hilton - Manassas - Holladay is developing its second Tru by Hilton hotel in Manassas, VA. Construction of the $13.95 million. four-story 98-room hotel began in July 2019 and is on track to be completed in August. Holladay is planning to open the hotel in September with Holladay Hospitality Group serving as the management company. Learn more...

  • Holladay's Indiana Property Management team has been awarded a new management contract in Munster, IN. NAI Robert Lynn, located in Dallas, TX, has engaged Holladay to serve as its sub-manager for a 24,918 square foot Class A medical office building located at 10210 Calumet Avenue. Continue reading...
  • Holladay is excited to introduce Holladay Hospitality Group (HHG), a new management company serving hotels and hospitality property owners. On July 1, HHG will begin management of three Holladay-owned hotels in South Bend and Mishawaka, IN - The Inn at Saint Mary's, the Hilton Garden Inn South Bend, and the Hampton Inn & Suites Heritage Square. More details will be coming soon so be on the lookout for details.
  • Holladay's first hotel, The Inn at Saint Mary's, has stayed open and committed to the safety of its guest and associates during the COVID-19 crisis. The hotel has displayed a commitment letter signed by the staff, which states the team's enhanced standards for hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and comfort. This is an excellent example of Holladay's mission and values of Community and Health in action.
Land Sale:
  • Holladay Properties has closed on the sale of 5.84 acres of land located at 7875 Milhouse Road in Indianapolis, IN. The $690,000 transaction was represented by David Holt of Holladay Properties for the owner, and Spero Pulos of Lee & Associates for the buyer. Continue reading...

  • Holladay Properties would like to welcome Alessandro Frusciante to the Plantation, FL team as a Building Maintenance Engineer. Alessandro will coordinate activities for maintenance of a portfolio of medical office properties, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and emergency systems. Welcome, Alessandro!
  • Christin Moling has joined Holladay's Nashville, TN office as an Accountant. Christin will be responsible for the financial success of a portfolio of medical office buildings. Good luck, Christin!

  • (Portage, IN) - In celebration of the reopening of El Salto and Big Time Burgers & Brew, and as a way to support local tenants and community partners, the Portage office offered its associates vouchers to use at the restaurants on Wednesday, June 24. The voucher initiative was inspired by a program offered by MonoSol and was designed to support local businesses, as well as thank the associates for their great work during the crisis and their continued efforts to make Holladay a great place to work.
  • (Castleton, IN) - On January 9, 2020, the WoodSpring Suites hotel in Castleton, IN opened as the 400th Choice Hotels property. A Grand Opening celebration had been planned for March 26, 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was postponed. Holladay teamed up with the property's management company, J & P Asset Management, to support a local community organization, Gigi's Playhouse in a fundraising effort that was to have taken place during the Grand Opening. Despite the event's cancellation, Holladay and J & P donated their pledged total of $2,000 to Gigi's Playhouse, a group dedicated to providing support to individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
  • (Ashland, VA) - Austin Haynes, SVP-Development (Eastern Region) received a commemorative plaque from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington recognizing the celebration of Austin Haynes Day on May 26, 2020. Recognizing our People in the Community

Missy Hoekstra is a Leasing Agent at Burlington Station, Holladay's 89-unit multifamily residential community in Downers Grove, IL. She is an active volunteer with Hesed House , the second largest homeless shelter in Illinois. She discovered the organization when she was teaching previously, from some of her students and their families who utilized the group's services.

Hessed House is dedicated to ending homelessness and was founded in 1983 in Aurora, IL. The group offers a variety of programs including emergency shelter, homeless prevention, permanent housing support, employment education, substance abuse and mental health counseling, and legal and educational assistance.

Hessed House has over 7,000 volunteers who assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The organization takes in roughly 16 newly homeless individuals each week and tries to get as many individuals out of homelessness each week. Hessed House works with a professional staff and the help of outside agencies to help over 1,000 people through its shelters and housing programs annually.
