A MESSAGE FROM THE ASSEMBLYMAN

Dear Friends,

Thank you for viewing my June 2022 Newsletter. Enclosed you will find some pertinent updates from the past month in my office and Trenton, as well as what is on the horizon for the upcoming month.

The budget process is in full swing, with the budget committees in both the General Assembly and Senate meeting frequently to develop the state budget. June is always a busy month for us in Trenton, as we are frequently called into voting sessions until the budget process is complete.

This past month, I contacted the Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development to report cases of unemployment fraud that were reported to my office by a constituent. I also contacted the Director of the Motor Vehicle Commission about the inaccessibility of appointments to obtain a REAL ID.

My office is working with the MVC to bring mobile REAL ID licensing centers to the district. Currently, there are the following dates in Legislative District 40, and I will update you as more become available:

June 30, 2022 from 10:00 AM -2:00 PM at the Franklin Lakes Fire Headquarters (1 Bender Court, Franklin Lakes, NJ)

August 2, 2022 in Midland Park (time/location TBD)

August 4, 2022 in Franklin Lakes (time/location TBD)

I am in contact with the MVC to establish mobile licensing center appointments in Wyckoff, Wayne, and Cedar Grove, and will advertise the dates, times, and locations once they are confirmed.

Also, Legislative District 40 residents should be aware that there will be a road project done on Route 208, spanning from Route 4 to Route 287, starting Tuesday, May 31, 2022. This will be done to re-pave and stripe the highway. Please expect temporary lane closures and allow yourself extra time if commuting on Route 208.

Should you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will never stop working for you and all of my constituents across my district and New Jersey. I wish you all a wonderful month of June!

All the best,

Kevin J. Rooney
