What is a QuoteValet Shopping Cart? 

The QuoteValet Shopping Cart feature enables you to create online order forms for customers. You can create single or multiple order forms that can be used to automate customer re-orders or receive paid orders from a promotional email blast. The QuoteValet Shopping cart is included in the QuoteValet subscription. The general concept behind the QuoteValet Shopping Cart is that you can define an order form template that can be used over and over by different customers. When the website visitor completes the order form and clicks on the [Order] button a "normal" QuoteValet document will be created.

Why use a QuoteValet Shopping Cart?

The QuoteValet Shopping Cart is great for many uses, but here are two in particular. First, with your established customer base, they probably routinely order consumable items from you, low dollar items that you probably don't make much money on. Use the QuoteValet Shopping Cart to automate this process. You simply setup a Shopping Cart OrderForm template that contains all the items your customer typically orders and then give them the QuoteValet Shopping Cart website URL to go to whenever they need to order these items and from that point on you will simply receive orders in your inbox. No more phone calls and emails trying to identify the correct items to re-order.

The other great way to use the QuoteValet Shopping Cart is to create an OrderForm for some kind of item, like a limited time special offer discount, like an HP Server, for example, and you can even set an expiration date on the OrderForm. Then you simple send out an email blast to all your customers pointing them to this Shopping Cart Order Form and simply put, you will have an order waiting for you in your QuoteValet Dashboard from anyone that was interested!

How to Convert a Quote to a Shopping Cart

Any quote can quickly and easily be converted to a Shopping Cart Order Form. To do so you will first want to create a quote with the products, layout, and QuoteValet line attributes. If you are creating a customer specific shopping cart you will want to make sure your customer’s information is included in the Sold to/Ship to tab.

1. Click on File then Save As Template.

2. Click the check box next to “Save Template as QuoteValet Order Form” then hit OK. 

3. Choose which QuoteWerks user you would like to receive notifications regarding this Shopping Cart. 

4. The link for your Shopping Cart will be displayed and copied to your clipboard. This link can now be sent to multiple Customers, or a specific Customer if you had entered one in the Sold to/Ship to tab. 

5. Once the Shopping Cart has been shared, Customers can place orders directly using the QuoteValet link. When this occurs, the Sales Rep chosen is step 3 will receive a notification indicating that the order has been placed. 

The Order will also show up in the QuoteValet Dashboard as seen below. 

If this is a Customer specific Shopping Cart the Customer’s information will be pulled though from the Quote Template. If this Shopping Cart is not Customer specific the user will be asked to input their information and this will be pulled into the subsequent Order.

Processing an Order placed using a QuoteValet Order Form



1. Locate the submitted OrderForm in your QuoteValet Dashboard Inbox or the Reporting tab.

2. Click on Import in the Inbox or right click on the OrderForm in the Reporting tab and click Import Mobile Document.

3. Select the Sales Rep to assign the order to.

4. The Order Form will be converted into an accepted Quote in QuoteWerks and you can follow your normal procedures for processing orders, just like if you had sent a quote to the customer.
