Issue 37
Dear Fisher Families,

We are excited to honor Mrs. Jenny Anderson!!! As one of our stellar music teachers and the department chairperson, Mrs. Anderson has been named the recipient of the Gilbert T. Freitas Annual Memorial Award for Achievement in Music Education from California Music Educators Association (CMEA) - Bay Section for 2021. We are so proud of her and our Fisher Music Program. Congratulations Mrs. Anderson!!!

With the last week of school upon us, please note the schedule changes. With the exception of those students that remain on campus for an afternoon elective, students should return home for lunch:
It is hard to believe that we are headed into our last week of the 20.21 school year! We are so excited to be planning for a FULL RETURN next year, with our robust schedule full of electives, sports and all!

Take care and thank you for your continued support.

Mary Lonhart
Please review the information below regarding the return of your student's materials. This is very important so that Fisher can do a proper inventory and get ready for next year!

Returning School-Owned Textbooks, Chromebooks and Library Books
We will be collecting school-owned materials during the last two weeks of school through students' classrooms.

  • On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 26-28, we will collect all Algebra, Geometry, French and Spanish textbooks, and all English novels. Students should bring these to their classrooms on the day those classes meet.
  • On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 1-3, we will collect all History textbooks. Students should bring those books to their history classrooms on the day that class meets.
  • Library books and any other materials can also be returned to the drop box outside the Fisher Library any time students are on campus.

Chromebook Loaners
  • On Wednesday, June 2nd, on-campus students who have borrowed Chromebooks from Fisher will return them in their classrooms.  Please return the Chromebook charger if you borrowed one.
  • 8th graders who would like to donate their Chromebook for reuse can do so at this time.

Returning Materials for Zoomers
Zoomer students may return textbooks, Chromebooks and any other school-owned materials on Wednesday, June 2nd from 12 pm to 4 pm in front of the Fisher main office.
Chromebook Donations
Fisher collects and repurposes old Chromebooks that students are no longer using. Some donations will be used on Fisher's campus and some will be donated to underserved schools in need of working devices. Graduating 8th graders who want to donate their Chromebooks can turn them in using the schedule listed above.

SPECIAL NOTE for Zoomers!
Wednesday textbook drop off will also include many items to hand out, including:
  • Diplomas (8th graders!!!!)
  • Yearbooks
  • School photos
  • Art work
  • Ceramic masks from Van Meter
  • Raffle prizes
  • Science notebooks
  • And more!
Please have your student provide their name during drop off and they will be told if they have additional items to collect. If your student cannot come, have a friend collect these items for them.

For all students, please note that any items listed above that are not collected will be disposed of on the last day of school. While we would love to keep everyone's belongings, we do not have the space designated to make this happen. In other words, please make an effort to pick up these important items!

Help us out with this celebration and you can have a preview of what is coming for your student. We are so lucky to be able to hold this ceremony and we need your help to make sure that it is safe and enjoyable for all!

Please note that 8th grade parents cannot apply as we want you to enjoy this special event.

When: Thursday, June 3rd
Times: Many shifts available for different positions between 2:30 - 6:45
Where: Los Gatos High School Football Field Stadium

Celebrate Your 8th Grade Graduate with a Special Yard Sign!

We are offering the opportunity to celebrate our Fisher 8th Grade Graduates with yard signs. Our first batch of 100 signs sold out! We now have a second batch, but only a few left. If you would like a sign, please use the link below to order.

The cost is $20 per sign and you will also receive a stand to place the sign in your yard.

Please note that we are not offering these signs for profit and we are supporting a local business for the purchase.

This is meant to be an inclusive celebration, so if this is not in your budget right now, please reach out to Principal Mary Lonhart at
8th grade Chromebooks will be de-provisioned (unenrolled from LUGSD management) at 3 pm on June 3rd. Students will still have access to LGUSD email and Google Drive account until June 18th. Please plan to transfer any of your school files by that date.
For 8th graders attending Summer School, Chromebooks will be de-provisioned on July 2nd and accounts will remain active until July 16th. Please contact with any questions.
Parents who need to purchase an LGUSD-provisioned Chromebook for their child can do so through our partner vendor, Central Computers. After some COVID-related supply chain hiccups, they have plenty in stock for families who weren't able to purchase earlier this year. Purchase, loaner, and repair information can be found on our website. As a reminder, all Fisher students should be using an LGUSD-provisioned Chromebook. Contact with any questions.
Our Fisher Music Department would like to congratulate Mrs. Anderson who recently received the Gilbert T. Freitas Memorial Award for her Achievement in Music Education. What an accomplishment and we couldn’t be prouder!

Summer Reading with the Fisher Library

Current 6th and 7th graders (who are returning to Fisher next year): You are invited to participate in the Fisher Library's Summer Reading program. Students can earn Spirit Points in all sorts of ways, but all you really have to do is read!

Summer Reading participants may request up to 10 books from the Fisher Library to check out for the summer. We'll deliver them to your classroom if you're here on campus, or we'll have them available to pick up on the last week of school. Books will be due back on the first day of school, and we'll celebrate with a party and a raffle for all Summer Reading participants. Of course you can also read books from the public library, a local bookstore, or your own TBR pile.

Sign up here or visit the Fisher Library website to learn more. Contact Ms. Bateman at with any questions. Happy reading!

Special Note:
All library materials not checked out for the Summer Reading Program must be returned by Friday, May 21st. Books can be returned at curbside drop-off on Wednesdays from 2-3pm and Fridays from 8-9 am outside the Fisher main office, or in the drop box in front of the library whenever students are on campus.
