Issue XVI
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Hello Fisher Families,

I hope each and every one of you enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving holiday. As we look forward to the start of December, remember that the end of our semester is Thursday, December 16, 2021. These next three weeks will fly by and the end of our fall semester will sneak up on us!

We hope to wrap up our Behavior Focus lessons as we close 2021. For this week, we hope that students will practice “personal space between themselves at Break and Lunch”. We will continue to remind students of this safety practice and appreciate your support as well.

As we move into December, please remember that masks are still required for everyone when indoors at school. It would be great if you could send your child with a mask each morning and we always have some available for their use if forgotten. Thank you for your help with this!

We have a busy December Concert Series planned as the holidays approach! Thank you to our fabulous music teachers for coordinating and supporting these events. Thank you also to our great Music Booster parents! We couldn’t do this without all of you! We look forward to hearing our young musicians play!

Have a wonderful week. Take good care.

GIRLS BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS
The Fisher 6th grade basketball team had an away game against one of their rivals, Ida Price. After some great defense in the first half by Reagan Zeid, Ainsley Lang and Paige Purcell, the team was able to get some key shots by Jenna Webb, Kate Langner, Gowri Sunil and Taylor Payne. Fisher led 16 - 6 at halftime. Maia Zaler, Quinn Harr and Sofia Maskalik played some aggressive defense in the second half that led to some nice transition hoops. The team continued to step it up in the second half with Kavya Hubbard, Kiley Horwitz and Siyona Raj helping control the ball on defense and protect the ball on offense. Some key defense and timely rebounds were made by Monika Leaverton and Laia Chandron-Moles. Final score 28 - 14, to bring the Trojans to 7 - 2 on the season. The team is excited to meet Rolling Hills in the Championship!

The Fisher 8th grade basketball team suffered their first home loss of the season to Price Middle School 33-30. Although the 8th grade team loss, this was the most exciting game of the season. The 8th grade team battled back from being down 14 points in the second half. Lola Cuevas sparked the girls come back with her 3-point shooting and Leighton Ozawa led the charge with her lockdown defense as she was able to shut down the top player on Price. Keep up the great work Trojans!
