Issue 17
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Dear Fisher Families,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and well.

Thank you for completing the Reopening Schools Parent Intention form. We are using this data to plan and prepare for our students’ safe return. Thank you, also, to those of you that were able to join me for last week’s Principal’s Chats. I hope you found them to be informative and helpful.

To best serve our students’ food service needs, I request that you complete the Food Service Survey below. We would like to provide complimentary grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches for interested families of both Roomers and Zoomers.

With regards to the timeline for implementing the Roomers & Zoomers model, the LGUSD Board of Trustees will meet on January 7th to evaluate the health conditions in Los Gatos and Santa Clara County. At that time, they will make a “Go” or “No Go” decision to put the plan into action. District administrators will also continue to closely monitor conditions and consult with the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, as needed.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Take care and stay well.

Mary Lonhart
Principal

Hybrid Instructional Assistants Needed

Dear families,

As you know we are working towards opening for in-person instruction in January. In order to support our schools and staff members, we are planning to hire additional staff to act as in-class aides to facilitate the “Rooming and Zooming” model, and to provide on-campus support. While we know many would be happy to volunteer their support, to ensure adequate training and provide consistency and to comply with the health orders, we will be hiring assistants. These positions will begin when in-person instruction classes begin. Please consider applying, and/or share the information with your friends and family. The details and how to apply can be found in the job posting link below:

FISHER MUSIC CONCERTS
FISHER MUSIC CONCERTS DECEMBER 16TH!

Our magnificent music department is excited to invite you to our virtual Winter Concert on Wednesday, December 16th at 7PM. This concert will highlight the hard work and dedication of Fisher’s young musicians who have worked so hard to adjust these group artforms to an individual practice at home.

The concert will be live streamed to Youtube through the Los Gatos Music Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpWgSAOaoe-QZmquoGqhB9Q. (*SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube Channel!)

This concert will feature the following classes and special appearances by Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Krijnen and Mr. Miller:
  • Open Strings, Intermediate Orchestra and Advanced Orchestra
  • Open Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band
  • Open Choir, Mixed Choir, and Treble Choir

These videos would not be possible without the generous support of the Los Gatos Music Boosters. If you have not had a chance to donate to support these types of amazing opportunities for your children, please visit this link to show your support: Donation Link (and share it with your extended friends & family if they enjoyed it too!).

A HUGE thank you to Andrew Hill, the LGHS Band, Orchestra and Jazz Music Director, who will host our live stream. We are also grateful for all of the LGHS students who are helping behind the scenes to make sure our concert goes smoothly. It takes a village!

We wish we were able to perform in person, but this will be the next best thing. Have some popcorn, broadcast the YouTube videos on a big TV with great speakers and enjoy the “concert.”
8th GRADE MUISC NIGHT WITH LGHS

Los Gatos High School would like to welcome your 8th grade students and their parents to a night of information presented by our LGHS music teachers, current music students and parent volunteers at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 13 on Zoom. After a brief time of overview presentations and student testimonials, we will break out into parent interest groups for choir, orchestra, band/jazz band/marching band/color guard.
