Two days ago, President Biden signed the Respect for Marriage Act, making it the law of the land. All LGBTQ+ marriages must now be recognized in every state, so if you get married in one state, every other state must afford you the same legal protections and benefits. It also means every existing marriage is protected in the case of Obergefell being overturned by the Supreme Court.
What it does not do is codify LGBTQ+ marriage nationally. For that, we will need bigger Democratic majorities. But it is a big step in the right direction – and Democrats made it happen in the “lame duck” session, when any big move is incredibly rare.
THIS IS WHY WE FIGHT. This huge victory was only possible because of the Democratic president and Democratic majorities in the House and Senate.
So in 2023 and 2024, let’s recommit ourselves to the beautiful fight, to be happy warriors, registering new Democrats to build a more loving, inclusive society that recognizes: LOVE IS LOVE.

Field Team 6 is putting together the first-ever Register Democrats Summit on March 16, 2023.
Field Team 6 will host a day-long Zoom extravaganza of keynote speakers, panels with politicos, vendor demonstrations, grants, prizes and giveaways, and, in various cities, in-person happy hours. Special Guests to be announced soon! This first-of-its-kind event will be free to activists and partner organizations. It's official: BlueVoterGuide.org is a massive success! It's a super-helpful, handy-dandy guide to progressive candidates, initiatives, and ballot measures, and it was instrumental in helping over 50,000 voters make strong choices in the midterm elections (and we're making it better with version 2.0).
Most remarkably, Blue Voter Guide made a huge splash even though it was only available in nine swing states; think what it could accomplish if it was nationwide!
With your help it can be. We're signing up volunteers today to expand the Blue Voter Guide in 2024 – to make sure we keep the White House and Senate Blue, take back the House, and help voters make progressive choices easily up and down every ballot.
