The Division of Research & Innovation (R&I) welcomes our faculty, staff, and students to the exciting fall semester and a new academic year. As we close the 2022 fiscal year, we have had tremendous research and innovation activities and accomplishments.
The tireless efforts of the PVAMU community not only earned the R2 Carnegie designation of high research activity status but also nearly doubled its restricted research awards to over $23M. We nurtured several research partnerships with industries, national labs, and R1 institutions, including Shell, Sandia, TAMU, and Princeton.
This month’s newsletter highlights the impact of our Research & Innovation for Scholarly Excellence (RISE) Grant Program. Over 100 RISE-graduate and undergraduate students carried out significant research under the supervision of our dedicated faculty and enhanced the university’s research and innovation landscape. R&I looks forward to supporting this academic year’s cohort of such deserving students. We also look forward to encouraging and supporting student innovation efforts through the Panthers Invent competition this fall semester.
Go Panthers!
