Pfizer Vaccine Receives FDA Approval
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty (koe-mir’-na-tee), for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 through 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals.
Beginning September 20 through November 1, 2021, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will be required for indoor events of 1,000 or more and strongly recommended for outdoor events with 10,000 or more attending. Face Covering Recommendations & Requirements
The California Department of Public Health, Riverside County Public Health, and Desert Healthcare District:

  • Recommend: All individuals, regardless of their vaccination status, wear face coverings in indoor public settings.
  • Require: Unvaccinated individuals to wear face coverings indoors.

Round 8 of the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program for nonprofit cultural institutions is now Open for Applications. This grant supports California eligible nonprofit cultural institutions defined as registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities that satisfy the criteria for a qualified small business under the California Relief Grant, but with no limitation on annual gross revenue, and in one of the following categories:
